Pre-Cooled Lambada Tulip
‘Lambada' Qualities:
Type: single fringed
Colors: orange & magenta
Grower’s Note: Linda's obsession with orange and magenta flowers means that Lambada is a must grow every year at Little Farmhouse. This dreamy tulip is a later blooming variety, so it helps us extend our winter forcing season, too!
Planting instructions:
This variety may be forced in the winter time or grown in the garden/field in warmer climates. 5C pre-cooled bulbs ship later, in November. Your 5C bulbs will arrive to you with a "cooling completed by date". Plant your bulbs in soil mix and keep them in a cool place at about 40F until they at least reach that date. (Wait a couple weeks more for good measure). Then grow them in a room temp, sunny place.
Or- Plant them outside. Choose a sunny spot. Dig a hole or trough about 6 inches deep. Set your bulbs in the hole with the pointy tip up. Water. Cover and tamp down. Fertilizers are not necessary (we use none for tulips here). The energy for the plant comes from the bulb. It’s stored there like a battery. Tulips love water in the spring. The typical spring rains here are all they need in our fields.
All sales are final. Buyer assumes responsibility for growing flowers from these bulbs. We recommend planting them within a week of receipt.
