Ornamental curcuma (Siam tulip) is a hot weather loving plant grown from a rhizome. Curcuma flower at the height of summer (similar timing to dahlias) . They prefer hot weather, a sunny location, and good moisture. Our curcuma roots come from a woman-owned, sustainably minded farm in Thailand. They can be started indoors and grown in containers. They can also be dug and divided and stored over winter similar to dahlia tubers. Curcuma are perennial in zones 8+. Lift and store them indoors, above freezing, in colder zones.
