Hello there!
We’ve just launched our new Little Farmhouse Flowers Pro service - a program aimed at providing timely and accessible solutions to everyday farmer-florist problems each week! We focus on 3 main categories: Multi-Tasking Plants (introductions to our favorite species), Efficiency Tips (ways that we work on making our operation run smoother), and Must-Have Tools. Every week, we share a new tip from one of these categories. We rotate through the categories to make sure we’re sharing a nice balance of material. The video content can be viewed on our private Instagram feed (@littlefarmhouseflowerspro) in the member area of our website, and/or in a monthly newsletter shared with subscribers.
These are quick hit, no-nonsense tips from behind the scenes at our farm - all for less than $2.75 per week. It’s the sort of information I always wished farms were sharing— the people, projects, and tools behind all the beauty that goes out into the world. Our focus with this program is on sharing our hard earned lessons, so they don’t have to be hard earned for you!
And- if there is a challenge / struggle / pain point in your operation, we hope you’ll share it with us so that we can work on a solution for you.
To date we’ve shared the following tips. (This library is available to everyone who joins, and it keeps growing with each new weekly addition!)
Multi-Use Plants:
A cold hardy, non-wilting perennial greenery that is great fresh or dried and in pretty much any floral application
A cold hardy, non-wilting perennial flower with a network of branchy stems that make them great armatures for bouquet making and installation work (they also make a great dried flower)
A first-year flowering perennial flower with a long season and tall stems/branchy shoots that can be cut from multiple times.
Another first-year flowering perennial. This one has stiff stems and beautiful, lacy blue-green foliage. It’s useful with or without its petals! And is a favorite amongst fabric dyers.
A fabulous self-sowing annual that blooms over a long season and transforms in the fall into another useful botanical element for design work
