mother’s day and may flowers ahead
We are coming up on my most favorite flower holiday, Mother's Day. I think I especially love flowers on Mother's Day because I was pampered with beautiful arrangements from Emily Herzig Floral Design in Littleton, New Hampshire when we lived over there in the White Mountains. Actually that area, as unlikely as it may seem, spurned much of my interest in flower farming and floral design thanks to Emily and also Vanessa and Reggie Tarr at TarrNation Flower Farm in Sugar Hill, NH. Anyhow, let's get to the good stuff!
MOTHER'S DAY BOUQUET PUNCH CARD HALF-SHARES
This year, I'm excited to share some new flower news for May. A customer suggested that we offer a half-share bouquet punch card (5 bouquets) for customers who might not be visiting farmers; markets as much as our regular flower addicts-- you know who you are! We think that is a great idea, so you will now find a half-share gift card in our online shop. It is also delivered for free to the recipient, in beautiful craft paper packaging with instructions for claiming those bouquets at either the Lake Placid or Keene Valley farmers' markets.
FLORAL DESIGN WORKSHOP
On May 9th, just before Mother's Day, we'll be at Pure Placid in Lake Placid, New York for a free floral design workshop! We'll thrilled to collaborate with Pure Placid on this project, and I can't wait to join interested folks for some floral fun that evening. Please RSVP to Pure Placid at info@pureplacid.com so that we can make sure to bring the right amount of flowers and vessels. Guests will view a brief demonstration, build their own arrangements, and take home a sweet centerpiece to enjoy with family or friends. I'll be there as your teacher (a fun trip down memory lane for me!) to share tips that I've learned from some of the floral industry's great designers including Lewis Miller, Sue McCleary, Julio Freitas, Kiana Underwood, Erin Benzakein, Nina Foster, and Vanessa Tarr.
POP UP FLOWER SHOP
Find fresh tulip bouquets from our farm will be at The Good Bite Kitchen in Lake Placid on Friday, May 11. Grab something for lunch and something for mom! They are a perfect quick Mother's Day gift.
TULIP FEVER (AND DAFFODILS, TOO!)
We are welcoming thousands of specialty daffodils and fringed, double, and parrot tulips in May. Stay tuned for more possible pop-up flower shops and opportunities to redeem punch cards pre-market season!
